Lay Technician Supervisor

For one of our offshore projects, we are looking for RDS specialists to join our team.

Position: Lay Technician Supervisor

Location: Offshore

Reports to: Chief Engineer

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manage the Lay Technician department
  • Contribute to creating a positive HSSEQ culture within MCS
  • Assign tasks to personnel and supervise their proper execution
  • Detailed knowledge all aspects of the lay systems
  • Progress work scope during operation as directed by the Shift Supervisor and in accordance with the relevant task plans and approved procedures
  • Maintain the equipment, do fault-finding and perform routine maintenance according to the vessel’s maintenance program
  • Maintain good housekeeping and general tidiness of the equipment
  • Report equipment damages and incidents trough the appropriate
  • Maintain knowledge of the overall project operations
  • Actively participate in and cascade to direct reports shift briefings, safety delegate meeting, project inductions, supervisor’s forum, and other relevant information
  • Provide feedback on areas of technical improvement of equipment and operations; seek feedback from Offshore Management on the progress of these suggestions and in-turn feedback the same to his/her direct reports
  • Responsible for the overall health, safety and welfare of all personnel working under his/her supervision
  • Proactively participate in project safety briefings, HIRAs and Tool Box Talks
  • Actively participate in Management of Change process as required
  • Act as “person in charge” for Permit to Work raised for the workforce under his/her supervision
  • Perform housekeeping activities as necessary to maintain a safe and clean worksite
  • Participate in on board Safety Management System, g. Safety Delegate as required
  • Ensure that all his/her direct reports have the required competencies in their areas of operation and are aware of their personal responsibility for the performance of their job
  • Implement the Familiarisation Programme for all personnel under their control
  • Regularly appraise the performance and behaviours of direct reports and analyse, identify and report any training needs to the Chief

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level of education, relevant experience (lay technician mechanical and/or electrical)
  • Proficient in English, with good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic user knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
