FJC Engineer

MCS BV is looking for an experienced FJC Engineer to deliver an s-lay pipelay project. The project is EU based and involves shallow water pipelay and an Above water Tie in.  The successful candidate will join a growing multinational team and contribute to the continued growth of MCS.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with and maintain awareness of the current requirements of both MCS BV and client;
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the policies of MCS BV on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with specific procedures;
  • Review and be familiar with Engineering Department Manuals, Specifications, Design and Drawing procedures and work instructions in order to conform with the IMS of MCS BV;
  • Review and be familiar with the specific requirements of the client and other governmental and/or statutory bodies;
  • Be familiar with latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations;
  • To ensure his/ her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk;
  • Help develop and encourage any technical suggestions that will enhance the overall efficiency;
  • Help implement and organise approved modifications to the diving part of the project, ensuring changes are fully documented and included in the appropriate documents;
  • Develop Department/Group Specifications and Guidelines related to diving;
  • Approve Department/Group Specifications and Guidelines;
  • Participate in Tender and Project meetings;
  • Prepare Reports/Summary for project meetings;
  • Ensure projects have regular PEER reviews and that they adhere to engineering work instructions;
  • Assist in compiling engineering and technical specifications, operation/test manuals maintenance procedures, work instructions and offshore procedures where required as part of the project;
  • Supervise Peers;
  • Approve Timesheets/Leave requests;
  • Deliver Manuals/Specifications, Reports/Memos, Request for Quotes, and Technical Commercial Evaluations.

Competencies and Skills Required

  • Help develop and encourage any technical suggestions that will enhance the overall Project Engineering or Operational efficiency;
  • Keep up to date with ongoing developments in the field of Subsea Construction and Remote Systems Engineering;
  • Understanding of Heat Shrink Sleeves applications, specifications, installation methodologies;
  • Understanding of IMPU solid/foam applications, specifications, installation methodologies;
  • Understanding of IMPP applications, specifications, installation methodologies;
  • Planning and supervision of Qualifications, Pre Production test and pipelay Operations;
  • Lead Subordinates and Team members;
  • Develop Strategies for Department/Group;
  • Provide mentorship/guidance to subordinates or mentee.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Engineering Post Graduate Qualification;
  • Engineering University Qualification;
  • Industry Leadership Experience;
  • Multiple Industry Project Experience;
  • Expert knowledge of SURF operations;
  • Be familiar with Vessel and ROV operations / limitations, in order to improve design, operations schedule, procedures and safety;
  • Knowledge of Office 365.
