With a working draft of only 2.5m the ultra-shallow pipelay barge Kapitan Bulganin is ideally suited for shore approaches. The shallow draft ensures that the barge can get close to the shore, this significantly reduces the length of the pull and hence the risks normally associated with this.
With the double stinger and firing line, the ultra-shallow pipelay barge Kapitan Bulganin can install two pipelines simultaneously. This is ideal for shore approaches where multiple pipelines need to be installed. By installing both pipelines at the same time it is not necessary to go over the already installed pipeline. Saving time, cost and risk
